INVITATION
On behalf of the Organising Committee we take great pleasure in extending an invitation to you to participate in ICMSM 2011. The Congress is organised by the Malaysian Society for Microbiology. The theme for the meeting is ‘Leveraging on Microbial Diversity for a Sustainable Future’. ICMSM 2011 will highlight the importance of microbial diversity for the understanding of physicochemical and biological processes on global environmental problems such as climate change, food security and toxic chemical pollution. Advances in molecular biology, bioinformatics and ecology have contributed to the emergence of microorganisms as a solution to these through sustainable development in the area of medicine, food, agriculture, green technology and biofuel.
The Congress will address issues from regional and international perspectives by sharing of knowledge and information amongst national and international researchers. This Congress will provide the platform for networking to enhance research and innovations. We welcome all of you to Malaysia particularly to Penang island, dubbed as the ‘Pearl of the Orient’ from 8 to 11 December 2011 for the Congress. We look forward to stimulating discussions on current issues in microbiology and providing an exciting mixture of social, cultural and outdoor experiences.
